The first is the face shown to the general public.
The second is the face shown in front of family.
The third is the face shown in front of friends.
The fourth is the face shown to one's self.
It is said that the key to happiness is being able to show all four faces to each group, or at least to as many as possible; this is indicative of an understanding of and satisfaction with one's self.
